David Warne, while at LGA Architectural Partners, served as project architect for the award‑winning Kitchener Central Library renovation. This transformative project expanded and modernized the iconic mid-century building—originally completed in 1962—by enclosing it within a high-performance glass curtain wall, adding a new second storey and rear extension, and integrating modern "makerspaces," study lounges, and digitally equipped labs. The design preserves the original concrete arches and mural, while the transparent envelope and programmable LED lighting redefine the library as an inviting “front porch” for the community. Reopened in May 2014 on a $40–46 million budget, the project achieved LEED Gold ambitions, supports active learning, and won the 2015 Ontario Library Association Library Building Award
